González Byass now making and distributing hand sanitizer

Published on

The González Byass winery in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) has now started manufacturing hand sanitizer gel after gaining the relevant permits and authorization from the Spanish Medications Agency and the Tax Office. The first batch, of 5,000 litres, will be distributed in 25 litre drums.

The facility in Jerez, in the province of Cádiz, has been making wine and spirits since 1835 and its technical and human resources are now being channelled into making this substance that is an essential part of the fight against Covid-19. The hydro-alcoholic hand sanitizer will be donated to a number of hospitals, care homes, social catering centres and Red Cross centres throughout the region.

With González Byass now a part of the effort to contain Covid-19, key roles are being played by its partners in this initiative: Reyenvas (which has given the drums), Nicolás Martín and MRW (both of which will be taking care of distribution).

Lastly, the family-owned company would like once again to express its sincere gratitude to all who, through their hard work and efforts, are playing an essential part in containing the pandemic.
