In the heart of Arcos de la Frontera, Finca Moncloa represents the rebirth of an almost forgotten tradition: the production of high-quality red wines in the province of Cádiz. Driven by the González family, this winery was created with the desire to recover the region’s winemaking heritage, championing native varieties such as Tintilla de Rota — a historic grape once close to disappearing, now thriving once again in the estate’s vineyards.
Since 1972, González Byass has carried out studies and microvinifications with different grape varieties in the area, culminating in the year 2000 with the founding of Finca Moncloa on 45 hectares of vineyards planted on clay-loam soils. In this privileged setting, under a temperate climate influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, grape varieties are cultivated that authentically express the unique character of the Cádiz terroir.
The winery combines tradition, innovation and profound respect for the land. Every stage of the process — from manual harvesting to ageing in French and American oak barrels — is carried out with meticulous care, aiming to craft balanced, complex and elegant red wines.
Finca Moncloa is also a place for discovery, where visitors can immerse themselves in wine culture through guided tours that reveal the artisanal process behind every bottle.
Today, Finca Moncloa stands as a symbol of authenticity, quality and deep-rooted heritage. Its wines reflect the essence of Cádiz: its history, its light and its fertile land. With a vision focused on the future while honouring the past, the winery has established itself as one of the leading references of the new Andalusian wine movement, carrying with it the soul of a land that never stopped believing in its potential.
