We are agronomists, winegrowers, harvesters and winemakers.
Those who arrived here 60 years ago and those who continue their legacy today. We are the land beneath our feet, the embrace of the Duero River, the dry summers and the long winters. We are every vine, every grape, every sip of wine. We are Fournier. And this is our Dominio. Our place in the world.
Every privilege also carries responsibility. Being born in the heart of one of Spain’s most prestigious appellations means that crafting great wines is not a choice, but an uncompromising obligation.
From the first buds of spring to the autumn harvests, we dedicate our experience, passion and commitment to every stage of the process. We harvest manually, cluster by cluster, in small crates, selecting the precise moment of ripeness to preserve the authenticity of Tinta del País, the grape variety that defines our identity.
We have been in Ribera del Duero since before the D.O. even existed. Our vineyards lie within a natural meander of the river, on pebble-stone river terraces, and for almost 60 years they have endured an extreme climate. At 820 metres above sea level, with dry summers, harsh winters and moderate rainfall, we obtain concentrated grapes with low yields (under 5,000 kg/ha), ideal for structured and long-lived wines.
With 22 low-density vineyard plots (1,100–2,900 vines/ha) and century-old vines, we apply artisanal winemaking methods: cold maceration to extract fine tannins, malolactic fermentation in wood and ageing for 12–18 months in French and American oak barrels. Each plot contributes its character, each barrel adds elegance, and every wine reflects our bond with its origin.
The result of our dedication is a collection of elegant, intense and structured wines with exceptional ageing potential, faithful to tradition and full of personality.
Made from estate-grown grapes, our Crianza wine spends at least 12 months in French oak barrels, resulting in an elegant and structured red in which the tertiary aromas of the wood begin to stand out, adding complexity to the fruit of Tinta Fina.
