Neyen

Neyen

The Neyen vineyard in the Apalta Valley is set apart by nature, wedged between where the Andes Mountains and the Coastal Range unite to form a stunning half-moon, and the old terraces of the Tinguiririca River. The Apalta terroir is known for a unique energy that the locals call “Neyen, the spirit of Apalta”.

The much-acclaimed wines are produced from old-vine ungrafted Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere from this unique ancient vineyard site with pre-Phylloxera vines. The Cabernet vineyard was planted in 1890, and in 1936, Carmenere vines were added.

The vineyards are 100% organic and hand harvested. The result is a powerful yet well-balanced wine with the concentration of Napa, but the length of the greatest Old-World wines…truly an icon of Chilean winemaking.

Primus

Primus

Inspired by the magnificent Andes Mountains, Primus produces elegant red wines of uncompromising quality that showcase the best expression of terroir from the renowned winemaking areas of Maipo, Marchigüe and Apalta. Primus wines are made with the same detail-intense winemaking practices reserved for the top wines of the world. Yields are managed to a meagre 2 – 3 tons per acre to provide concentration and intensity. Grapes are hand-harvested and double-sorted before crush to ensure only the most pristine berries make it into the wine. After fermentation, the wines are aged in a combination of French oak for a minimum of 12 to 14 months. The resulting wines are elegant and balanced with persistence of flavour. The name Primus is Latin and means “the first” or “the first among its peers”, and for good reason. The winery was founded more than 20 years ago by Agustin Hunneus. It was truly a pioneering brand as the first blend of the signature red grapes of Chile: Cabernet and Carmenere. Today, The Blend is still the standard bearer for Primus, and has been joined by two single varietal wines: Primus Cabernet Sauvignon and Primus Carmenere. The Altozano range is a tribute to Toledo, one of the most emblematic cities in Spain, reflecting the imagery and classic symbols of this famous capital. The wines are fresh, and fruit driven —a great introduction to modern Spanish wines.
