Tío Pepe Festival, Best Wine Tourism Experience of the Year

Published on
The Tío Pepe Festival has been acclaimed as Best Wine Tourism Experience at the 4th "Wine Routes of Spain" Wine and Tourism Awards. The jury of this competition –organised by ACEVIN, the Spanish Association of Wine Cities– described this festival experience as "a unique and innovative proposal that perfectly combines wine, culture, art, gastronomy and leisure to attract a very broad audience that seeks to live a unique, top-quality wine tourism experience at the very wineries". For five years, the monumental González Byass centenary wineries have been the stage where some of the best artists from around the world have presented their unique shows. This is a music festival experience, with superb performers and superb gastronomy –and limited seating that guarantees proximity to the artists. All of this in a magical environment where attendees are surrounded by sherry wine barrels and trellised alleys. Throughout its five editions, the Tío Pepe Festival has become an event that transcends the limits of a mere show to become a unique experience. It is thanks to this double approach –the presence of highly acclaimed international artists and a rich, complex experience with the winery as a hub for wine tourism, gastronomy and culture– that the Tío Pepe Festival has acquired full meaning as a singular, unique programme in the summer festival calendar. The following edition, which will take place from August 8 to 17, 2019, will feature 10 evenings full of music, art and gastronomy.
