Nestled in the northern reaches of France’s Rhône Valley, Vidal-Fleury has been producing exceptional wines for over two centuries, making it the oldest continuously operating winery in the region. Founded in 1781 in the prestigious Côte-Rôtie appellation, the estate has built a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication to terroir-driven wines.
A key moment in Vidal-Fleury’s modern evolution came through the support of the renowned Guigal family, one of the Rhône Valley’s most respected producers. Now exclusive shareholders, the Guigals have brought invaluable expertise and the resources to significantly enhance the winery’s capabilities. This partnership led to the construction of a €20 million state-of-the-art winery in 2008, raising both production quality and capacity to new heights.
Under the leadership of winemaker Antoine Dupré, Vidal-Fleury has embraced a contemporary winemaking style while remaining deeply rooted in tradition. Dupré’s innovative approach has helped the estate craft wines that appeal to both Rhône enthusiasts and modern wine lovers alike. Its Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie wines have earned high praise, with scores of 92 points for Condrieu and 93–94 points for Côte-Rôtie from The Wine Advocate, showcasing the estate’s consistent excellence.
