Uniqueness of Dominio Fournier wines shines through in world of design

Published on

Dominio Fournier Crianza and Dominio Fournier Reserva have each been awarded a Silver Medal in the “A’ Design Award and Competition”, the world’s foremost international design competition. The competition’s jury, which comprised leading professionals, journalists and academics from the world of design, only awarded the distinction to the 5% of entries that displayed truly excellent design. These included the delicate, subtle packaging of the Dominio Fournier wines. Located in Milla Escondida de Ribera del Duero, the winery’s vineyards sit alongside the Duero river, whilst production methods are based on craftsmanship and attention to detail.

These elements were the inspiration for the image of Dominio Fournier that was created by Estudio Maba. The label is a small decorative jewel that wraps around the bottles of this wine, which in turn is the product of manual work and small plots. The packaging thus reflects the river Duero in a very special way, a river that holds the vineyards in an embrace and imbues Dominio Fournier with a unique personality. Equally the finishes used – gold stamping, silver and embossing – to make the relief very visible, draw attention to and highlight the delicate nature of what is artisan work executed with love and that stresses attention to detail.

These three features are also evident in the quality of the materials used, and in the colours employed in the designs for the Dominio Fournier Crianza and Reserva labels. They reflect a clear pursuit of perfect harmony between the wine and what each bottle seeks to express. A fusion that echoes the philosophy that informs how Dominio Fournier wines are made, whereby every detail, from the vine to the bottle, is taken into account in order to achieve uniqueness.
