Vigneti del Salento, part of the Fantini group, is rooted in Puglia — the sun-bathed heel of Italy, where viticulture dates back to the ancient Greeks. This historic peninsula enjoys intense Mediterranean heat tempered by cooling maritime breezes at night, creating ideal conditions for expressive southern Italian wines.
Rather than owning vast estates, Vigneti del Salento works through a unique partnership with local growers. The winemaking team carefully selects the best parcels from family-owned vineyards, focusing on vine age, exposure, and specific clones. Once identified, they supervise the farming of these rows directly, adjusting yields and vineyard practices to ensure premium quality fruit.
Because most plots are small and meticulously cared for by generations of growers, harvesting can be completed within just three days — allowing the team to wait for the perfect moment to pick. The families involved receive fair compensation and take immense pride in contributing to wines that truly represent their land.
The wines are released under the name “I Muri”, inspired by the dry-stone walls built from cleared vineyard stones, and adorned with the indigenous lizard — a symbol of clean, natural farming. Focused on native grapes such as Primitivo and Negroamaro, Vigneti del Salento crafts food-friendly, generous wines that capture the authentic character of Puglia.
I Muri Primitivo Puglia IGP delivers an intense, aromatic style with red-fruit notes, gentle spice, and a full yet smooth palate. A harmonious Primitivo shaped by Puglia’s sun, sea breeze, and mineral soils.
Old-vine Primitivo di Manduria, rich and intense, with notes of cherry, blackberry, mint tobacco, and spice. Sweet at first sip, finishing with cocoa and coffee. Bold, elegant, and beautifully persistent.
I Muri Negroamaro Puglia IGP shows deep ruby color, ripe blackberry notes, velvety texture, and a savoury finish. A smooth, balanced red shaped by Puglia’s warm climate, sea breezes, and mineral-rich soils.
