Revival and Renown in McLaren Vale

Wirra Wirra’s story, from prosperous beginnings in the late 1800s through neglect to global acclaim, is remarkable. Founded by cricketer Robert Strangways Wigley in 1894, it quickly gained a reputation for quality until his death in 1926, after which it fell into ruin. In 1969, Richard Trott revived the estate, restoring vineyards and cellars.

Today in McLaren Vale, Wirra Wirra champions organic and biodynamic practices, producing stylish, fruit-driven reds and expressive whites that showcase the best of Australian wine. Their commitment to sustainability has earned loyal fans worldwide.
