Nestled in the Agly Valley near the village of Maury, in the Pyrénées-Orientales region of southern France, Château Saint-Roch is part of the rich winemaking heritage of Roussillon. The Lafage family, growers and vintners since 1798, has cultivated this land for generations. Winemaker Jean-Marc Lafage, born and raised in Maury, crafted his first wines here under the guidance of his grandfather.
Today, the estate spans 44 hectares of old vines, some over 50 years old, deeply rooted in the region’s rugged schist soils. Since acquiring the property, Lafage has restored the historic cellars and built a state-of-the-art winery, blending tradition with modern precision. Fermentations and ageing now take place on site, ensuring that each wine truly reflects the soul of Roussillon — expressive, refined, and shaped by both sun and stone.
