GBUK raises a glass to G.H. Martel in Champagne

What better place to celebrate an exciting new addition to the González Byass UK portfolio than Champagne itself?

The GBUK team headed to Champagne for this year’s annual conference, combining time together as a team with the opportunity to get to know G.H. Martel, Vieille France and Cuvée Victoire, and the family behind them.

Hosted by the Rapeneau family, the team enjoyed a fantastic few days learning more about the history, wines and ambitions of the family-owned Champagne house, including a memorable visit to Château de Bligny and the chalk cellars in Reims classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There was plenty of business, plenty of Champagne and some exceptional French hospitality along the way. More importantly, the visit brought the partnership to life, giving the whole team a real sense of the passion, heritage and ambition behind the brands we are now representing in the UK.

Our annual conference is also a rare chance for the whole GBUK team to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together and come back with fresh ideas and renewed energy. This year certainly delivered.

We returned home with an even greater enthusiasm for G.H. Martel and plenty of ambition for what we can achieve together.
