The González Byass wine story began in Jerez in 1835, when young entrepreneur Manuel María González started out as a wine trader. Rapid success led him into wine production, helped by his uncle José Ángel, known affectionately as Tio Pepe, after whom he named his first solera. Almost 200 years later it is still very much a family concern and is now in the hands of the fifth generation of winemakers. Today the family owns 14 wineries, producing premium wines and spirits in Spain, Chile, and Mexico, where they are fully committed to preserving the natural environment for the generations to come.
González Byass UK is a subsidiary of the historic González Byass business, distributing a considerable portfolio of wines and spirits from Spain, as well as wines from a carefully selected handful of complementary brands from around the globe.
“At González Byass UK we all share a passion – for great wine, great service, great experiences, but most of all for great relationships. We love what we do, and there’s nothing better than sharing a great glass of wine and good times with customers, suppliers and colleagues. “
A lovely mention in the recent ‘Viva Vermouth’ feature of @wine_spectator this month 🙌 Make sure you’ve got yours chilling the fridge to enjoy as the evenings get longer ☀️

Happy St Patrick’s Day! 🍀🥃
We’re not sipping a dram but raising a lively taoscán to Nomad Single Malt!
Note: It’s the Irish term, as we learned from Matt Healy’s @potstilled_ article!)
Nomad Single Malt is something truly special for whisky lovers. Born in Ireland but raised in Jerez, it starts its adventure in Dundalk, where it’s distilled and aged in bourbon barrels for 3 years. It’s then transported to Jerez, where it spends another year maturing in Gonzalez Byass Alfonso Oloroso sherry casks.
A step beyond merely ageing in sherry casks, the maturation actually takes place in Jerez, meaning the barrels are exposed to the unique biome of the cellars. As the temperature is also higher, so too is the angel’s share. Here the amount of liquid lost to evaporation is up to 5% (compared to Ireland’s 2%) concentrating flavours even more.
Make this the next whisky you try!!
Sláinte!

Cheers to International Riesling Day!
Sommeliers often claim their favourite grape variety is Riesling, and it’s no wonder why! Crisp, refreshing and unmistakably pungent, there’s nothing quite like Riesling. Riesling vines bear clusters that are notably small and tightly packed, embodying the concentrated richness that defines the varietal. Originating from cool climates, Riesling is now celebrated all across the world for its ability to create wines that balance acidity and sweetness with finesse — whether dry or sweet. From delicate floral bouquets to vibrant citrus bursts and luscious stone fruit notes, it’s impossible not to love 😍
So whether you’re going bone-dry or lusciously sweet, open up a bottle of Riesling today! 🍾

Celebrating International Syrah Day by shining the spotlight on Groenekloof 🌄
Situated near Darling in South Africa’s Western Cape, roughly 50km north of Cape Town, the stunning region of Groenekloof is the home of Neil Ellis GroeneKloof Syrah. It’s made up of a series of hills running parallel to the ocean Atlantic ocean, and vines here benefit from the Atlantic breezes and the increase in altitude, cooling temperatures and allowing Syrah to really express itself.
@neilelliswines source their Syrah from low-yielding bush vines, and because the soils here consist of decomposed granite and clay, they allow for great water retention, meaning no supplementary irrigation is needed. in more recent years, Groenekloof has been recognised for its potential for quality wines, and it’s now famed for its ability to produce elegant and sophisticated Syrah.
If you’re looking for a bottle of Syrah to enjoy this weekend, make it this one!🍇🍷
