The best wines from the Somontano Denomination of Origin bear the name Viñas del Vero. Pioneers in the region, this winery is a glittering treasure in a unique setting at the foot of the Pyrenees and on the banks of the Vero River, which is renowned for its wild ravines, gorges, and canyons. A blend of land and climate that can only lead to an exceptional wine.
The essence of Viñas del Vero lies in diversity, land, and innovation. The various soil types, microclimates, and altitudes allow us to work on a wide range of red and white varieties. Discover our wines!
Between 700 and 800 metres above sea level, in the Secastilla Valley, we find old Garnacha vines that provide us with the red and white Secastillas: a real hidden gem in Somontano.
Our iconic wine is also the only one to be produced in the winery. The fruits of a triple selection process: vineyard, bunch, and barrel selection. It is only produced in years that offer the ideal conditions for making one of Spain’s best reds.
Viñas del Vero boosts its commitment to the planet with study of Pyrenean glacier
The winery has helped with the installation of a number of sensors in the rocky Cotiella glacier in Alto Aragón (Huesca), to find out whether it is still active. The work was part of the “Vidas” (“Lives”) initiative, whereby Viñas del Vero is helping build a better world by supporting specific projects that are driven by a clear commitment to the environment and are designed to preserve and restore the health of the planet.
